I didn’t put too much faith in this team initially. No training, no fitness, no idea of what the game was all about. But, with so much patience and discipline on the pitch, the cup was finally ours! The only thing that I quite didn’t like was the players were easily satisfied. I don’t think we would be this lucky in the upcoming league if the players are still in this kind of attitude. Sorry guys, I was just trying to be honest.
On Sunday, another final and expected another victory. Man United, as usual, did not disappoint me. The win over Aston Villa was the proof that the Red Devils are still the team to beat. Goals from Roo and Owen were enough to seal the victory over the improving Villains. The game was special as all three goals in the game were scored by English players. So for England fans, your team will do well in the World Cup.
This game was quite exciting as both teams were on attacking mode display. Compared to MU, the Villains were relying more on counter attacking as they have such speedy attackers. The likes of Agbonlahor, Young, Downing and Milner might change the course of the game. However, with the experiences of the United stars, all those players we shut down even sometime they managed to pose some threat to the United goalie, Kusczack.
In the other hand, with the pace from Valencia and Ji Sung, MU managed to launch their attacks almost unchallenged especially in the second half. And then came in Rooney, who substituted Owen, to become the once again hero. If I’m not mistaken, the goal was his fifth in three games and all fifth were from headers. He is just awesome!
I guess that’s enough about football. Well, next time I would love to share more with you about football. Before the full stop, once again congratulations to the COUGARS and Man United for winning the cups. The victory is mine! :-)
